Australia-front

An effortless elegance which carried Australia to three G1 wins and to the top echelon of European racing appears to have been transferred into his first crop of his foals which are being born in 2016.

The former World Champion Three-Year-Old and blue chip stallion commanded the attention of breeders across Ireland, Britain and France in his maiden season at stud and the astute breeders who flocked to him are being rewarded. In late 2015 mares in foal to him sold for up to €700,000. That belief appears to be very well founded.

A video of some of Australia’s foals (http://chinahorseclub.com/en/australias-world-class-first-foals/) has just been released and with the first foals all being relaxed, loose walking, good bodied individuals just like Australia himself.

“Australia was a gifted racehorse. His trainer Aidan O’Brien spoke regularly about his exceptional temperament and his speed and it is qualities like this that we are hopeful of seeing in his progeny,” said Michael Wallace, Head of Bloodstock and Racing for the China Horse Club.

“The quality of his first foals is very encouraging. I know the foals out of the mares we have sent to him have been good and the reports are that other breeders in Europe are also pleased with the first foals of Australia as well.”

Australia stands at Coolmore in Ireland at a fee of €50,000.
