China Horse Club and its partners moved with purpose and speed on the opening day of the 2020 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale to secure no less than 10 individual yearling colts to race in 2021 and beyond.
Covid-19 significantly changing the dynamic of this year’s sale, forcing it exclusively be held as an online sale. However, the long-term focus of CHC and presale preparation allowed it to strike during a time of uncertainty.
Eight of the 10 purchased colts are by proven sires Snitzel (2), Written Tycoon (2), Sebring (1), I Am Invincible (1), Lonhro (1) and Fastnet Rock (1), while the Club was also taken by the progeny of elite young stallions Extreme Choice and Winning Rupert to purchase what it believes, are the best colts on offer by the pair this season.
Lot 17, Snitzel x Lassiter’s Cat colt
Lot 181, Extreme Choice x Sambar colt
Lot 137, Winning Rupert x Plethora colt
CHC and partners were targeted in their approach, securing all its colts between AUD200,000 and AUD460,000 at a day of trading that had a median price of AUD250,000.
The Inglis Easter Yearling Sale has been a happy hunting ground for CHC whose graduates include multiple G1 winners and now in-demand young stallion Russian Revolution as well as current G2 winner Dame Giselle (2019 graduate) and boom colt Wild Ruler (2019 graduate). The depth of buying on the opening day of trading positions this run of success to continue in the immediate term.
