Some of Australia’s most notable G1 events beckon Revolutionary Miss and Marine One after the duo added their monikers to the growing list of stakes winning graduates from China Horse Club’s Australasian breeding operation.

On Saturday’s feature Caulfield programme, Revolutionary Miss annexed the AUD300,000 G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) before the AUD300,000 G2 Rubiton Stakes was snared in a career best performance by the improving Marine One. In doing so they joined an honour roll of current stars including G1 placed Giannis (aspirant for the upcoming G1 Randwick Guineas, G1 Doncaster Handicap and G1 Australian Derby), G1 placed Meritable and emerging talent Russian Warrior (AUD5,000,000 Golden Slipper aspirant).

The former, an AUD195,000 Magic Millions graduate, is the second stakes winner from the China Horse Club’s star mare Purcentage who is currently in foal to champion sire Savabeel. The latter, an AUD500,000 Magic Millions purchase, is the first to race from G1 placed mare Golconda and was bred in partnership with SF Bloodstock and Blake Sandblom Pty Ltd. Golconda continued her dalliance with Capitalist and will foal down a full sister or brother to Marine One later this year.

“It was tremendously rewarding for all at the Club to see Saturday’s results with Revolutionary Miss and Marine One,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australasian representative.

“Significant investment, coupled with a lot of effort from a lot of people has led to this and we wish all connections every success as Revolutionary Miss and Marine One continue their campaigns in 2022. They are both on an exciting trajectory.”

The franking of Revolutionary Miss’s abilities is timely and further fuels the rise and rise of boom young sire Russian Revolution. At the time of writing, the former China Horse Club colour bearer has the co-favourite for the Blue Diamond (Revolutionary Miss) and second favourite for the Golden Slipper (Russian Conquest). Notably, the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes will be run just two days ahead of the commencement of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale where China Horse Club will 12 yearlings through Sledmere Stud, including five by the above-mentioned Russian Revolution.

“Russian Revolution holds an important place in the history of our Club and our belief in him has been unwavering. The support he has received from Newgate Farm, SF Bloodstock, Sir Owen Glenn’s Go Bloodstock and many others is testament that we are not alone in that assessment,” Smith added.

“Importantly, we continue to work very hard to education the marketplace that China Horse Club is a commercial breeding operation as well as a commercial racing operation. Results like Revolutionary Miss, Marine One, Giannis, Russian Warrior reinforce that.

“This year we have continued our record of selling 100 percent of yearlings offered for sale and we strongly believe in the calibre of stock we are taking to upcoming sales across Australia.”

Trainers Peter and Paul Snowden realigned the immediate targets of Revolutionary Miss and she rewarded their faith and that of owners Triple Crown Syndications with a tenacious display. Having saluted in the Blue Diamond Prelude, there is every reason to be upbeat as she zeroes in on the Blue Diamond itself.

“With two-year-olds it’s about how they cope with work and pressure of racing, and [Revolutionary Miss] is one that just keeps thriving – she’s eating more, she’s getting stronger, she’s loving whatever we do to her,” said co-trainer Peter Snowden to Racing.com.

“I’ve never had continuity with her – I was always stopping and starting all the time trying to find the right race for her. To me, she still wants further yet, so it’s a great result today.

“[Revolutionary Miss] is there now. It is a matter of cuddling her. It is all about keeping her happy, keeping her eating well and if she’s in the shape she’s in now we’ll be right.”
