Top class juvenile and Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes hero Flying Artie will be raced for the remainder of his racing career by a syndicate that includes Newgate Farm, China Horse Club, SF Bloodstock, Matthew Sandblom and his initial owners Luskin Park and Aston Bloodstock.
“Flying Artie is an exceptional colt in one of the greatest three year-old crops we have seen in many years,” said Newgate Managing director Henry Field.
“He was up there with the very best of his generation at two, placing in a Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond, before dominantly winning the strongest Coolmore Stakes we have seen on record.
“He’s a serious a racehorse and will be a serious outcross as a sire and we are privileged to be standing him on completion of racing.”
With three wins and three placings from six starts and earnings topping $1.2 million, Flying Artie has been a dream come true for Paul Whelan of Luskin Park, who purchased the colt from the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
“Artie has brought so much joy to myself and Wilf Mula (Aston Bloodstock) and our families,” said Paul Whelan.
“It is extremely satisfying to see him go to Newgate Farm, which has proven to be the number one emerging stallion farm in Australia.”
China Horse Club have invested in premium bloodstock throughout the world and view Flying Artie as a pivotal investment in the Australian market.
“We look to invest in exceptional colts and he is a horse with the world at his feet,” said China Horse Club.
“He’s a very exciting sire prospect for us and our partners.”
Currently spelling, Flying Artie will remain in work with Mick Price to target further Group I success in 2017.
