20200416-SeventhSealSeventh Seal (no. 2) in CHC silks

Just a week after First Seal’s Snitzel yearling topped the 2020 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, a further reminder was given about the natural talents of this family when the star mare’s baby brother, Seventh Seal, posted his second win in succession at only his third career start.

Seventh Seal has been taken along slowly by the Snowden racing team, being given the chance to grow into his strapping frame. The three-year-old is now starting to repay that patience with today’s win at Goulburn (Australia), his second in as many starts this preparation.

“Seventh Seal did all that was asked of him once again and it was encouraging to see him deliver as hoped,” said China Horse Club’s Michael Smith.

“He was coming off a 267-day break when he won in Canberra earlier this month and he has stepped up to the next level today. We will assess how he has come through today’s win before making plans for him but it is encouraging to see that he continues to meet the challenges placed in front of him.”

Seventh Seal jumped from the outside of the 12 strong field and was pushed forward to settle just better than midfield under jockey Adrian Layt. Turning for him the three-year-old was still spotting the leaders a start but knuckled down to the task to hit the front and race away from his rivals to win by a widening 1.6 lengths.

Seventh Seal is raced by a high-profile partnership including China Horse Club, Newgate Farm, WinStar Farm, Matthew Sandblom Horse Ventures and G1G Racing and Breeding.
