20250423-FrontTrainer Peter Snowden with former graduate Don Corleone

Champion trainer Peter Snowden is expected to set his crosshairs on the maiden running of the AUD1,000,000 Magic Millions National 2YO Classic (1000m) in four weeks time after Impact Zone stamped himself as a horse with a future in the AUD42,000 NZB Weanlings 26th June Maiden Plate (900m) at Newcastle (Australia).

China Horse Club and partners have enjoyed a wonderful run of success over the years in the Magic Millions Race Series with Aim and King of Sparta creating a sequence of success that ran for four successive years.

Aim:                     1st 2021 AUD2,000,000 MM 3YO Guineas

King of Sparta:     1st 2022 AUD2,000,000 MM 3YO Classic

                              1st 2023 AUD1,000,000 MM Sprint

                              1st 2024 AUD1,000,000 MM Sprint

The Magic Millions National 2YO Classic, which will be run on the eve of Magic Millions’ expansive National Sales series, is exclusively open to sales graduates.

Impact Zone was sourced from the Rosemont Stud draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock and partners alongside Golden Slipper contender Quietly Arrogant.

Impact Zone has been patiently handled by Snowden who opted not to rush him towards lucrative contests over the Sydney Autumn Carnival but to save him for a kinder entry point into the sport.

Today’s assignment was only the second for Impact Zone who showed considerable natural assets to jump, lead comfortably and win easing down for jockey Tom Sherry.

Post race, the Irishman was highly complementary race, of Impact Zone who he was partnering for the first time under race conditions.

“He’s gifted with natural barrier speed,” Sherry said.

“I rode him to see how the race panned out but we were in lead and he has a great attitude. [Impact Zone] travelled so kindly and when I gave him his head at the 350m he accelerated. He quickened really well and putt the race to bed. He should go on to bigger and better things.”
