Dear members, partners, sponsors and colleagues,

As we stand at the threshold of 2026, TAK Group approaches a significant milestone—the celebration of over three decades of visionary growth and global impact. Since our founding in 1993, we have evolved from a pioneering architecture and master planning firm into a diversified international group, shaping skylines, communities, and industries across continents. This past year, 2025, has been a testament to that enduring vision—a year in which each arm of our Group, from the master-planned ecosystems of Kenyalang Smart City and Imasa Dinasti in Sarawak, to the celebrated tracks of the China Horse Club, and the heritage-steeped luxury of Alpina Mountain Resort in Switzerland, achieved transformative progress.

As we welcome 2026, I am filled with profound optimism. This past year, we laid the foundation for a transformative future, not just for our Group but for Sarawak and the region. We are not merely constructing buildings; we are building a legacy of innovation, health, and sustainable prosperity. I invite you to join me in reflecting on a pivotal year of progress.

As we embark on our second year of history making in 2026, we invite all Mirian’s and our neighbors to partake in this historic journey together. We look forward to sharing this exciting path with you.

2025: The Year of Foundation

In 2025, the vision for the Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) moved decisively from blueprint to reality. This 6 billion (Ringgit Malaysia) catalytic development in Miri is designed to be a complete ecosystem for living, learning, and innovation, poised to establish a new Malaysian benchmark for smart, resilient urbanism on the global stage.

The cornerstone of this vision is our pioneering partnership with Fudan University, a top-tier institution in China. This collaboration is the engine that will drive Miri’s transformation from an energy hub into a regional centre for talent and high-tech innovation.

  • The formal agreement to establish the Fudan University Joint Research Center, a flagship biomedical facility in Miri, was signed in June 2025. The historic signing was witnessed by The Honourable Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, representing The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, and President Jin Li of Fudan University. This center will serve as a regional hub for integrative medicine, combining Chinese and Western practices with cutting-edge biotechnology.

  • Accelerated Physical Progress: Demonstrating remarkable commitment, the Sarawak Government allocated a landmark building in central Miri to fast-track this initiative. Renovation of the old Miri City Council building to house the Fudan (SEA) Integrative Medicine Institute, Miri City Campus is now 85% complete. The ground-floor AI Medical Experience Centre (“The Hall”) is on track to open in early 2026, allowing the community to experience “AI Doctor” technology firsthand.

  • Strategic Expansion at KSC Summit 2025: The November 2025 Summit marked a major leap forward. We signed two key Memoranda of Understanding involving Fudan University and Curtin University Malaysia to formalise cooperation in AI-driven integrative medicine and joint academic research. A significant highlight of the Summit was the visit by His Excellency Ouyang Yujing , Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia who, together with The Honourable Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, officiated the opening of The Hall. This historic milestone marked the successful “step one” of Fudan University’s establishment in Miri. As noted by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof Dr. Sim Kui Hian, this hub is a crucial step in addressing Sarawak’s doctor shortage and forms part of a strategy that includes plans for a future medical school.

The Broader Kenyalang Smart City Vision

perspectives

Our progress with Fudan University integrates into the larger, master-planned KSC ecosystem, designed across three phases on 548 acres of land.

  • Phase 1 (2025-2028): This initial phase, now underway, is divided into key segments. Phase 1A includes the KSC Apartments and KSC Square. Phase 1B will feature the water theme park, hotel, and associated residential components. The Fudan University Joint Research Center is a cornerstone project within this first phase.
  • Sustainable and Resilient Design: True to our philosophy that “urban design is not about being big, it is about being complete,” we have engineered KSC for the long term. This includes carving out 200 acres for water retention to solve historical flooding issues, based on a 100-year forecast—twice the industry standard—to ensure permanent security for investors and residents.

Global Recognition and Partnership Milestones

Beyond Sarawak, 2025 also marked meaningful recognition of TAK Group’s values-driven approach to development.

In Switzerland, the historic Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa in Tschiertschen, Chur, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its reopening on 12th December 2025. Originally established in 1897, the resort has been thoughtfully restored and repositioned since 2015 as a discreet alpine retreat rooted in heritage, tranquillity, and understated luxury. The anniversary dinner, hosted by myself and my wife, Madam Ivy Ng, President of the Alpina Management Board, was attended by the Mayor of Chur, Hans Martin Meuli, former mayors of Tschiertschen, and invited dignitaries. Today, Alpina stands as a cultural anchor for the village and a model of high-value, community-integrated tourism.

These partnerships reinforce the growing regional and international network that supports Sarawak’s aspirations in education, research, healthcare, and inclusive development.

Excellence Across Our Global Portfolio

Horse 1600x1200

2025 has been a year defined by momentum across every arm of China Horse Club. From new stallions and first-season runners to the arrival of first foals and elite racetrack results. In the USA, Patch Adams stamped himself as a rising force with two Grade 1 wins at Saratoga ahead of his first season at stud in 2026, while in Australia Stay Inside has made an immediate impact with three straight winners headed by a debut G3 Breeders’ Plate success. Our breeding and sales programme also delivered strongly: Ozzmosis’ first foals have impressed, Life Is Good’s first yearlings were led by a US$1.25 million colt at Keeneland September, and on the world stage CHC-bred Cercene captured the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. CHC-raced horse’s exceptional performances also translated into commercial strength, highlighted by Survie’s 1.9 million-guinea sale to Coolmore and Gladius’ 950,000-guinea result to the Emir of Qatar’s Wathnan Racing. Our farm, The Chase has continued to fire with graduates Depth Of Character (G2 Queensland Guineas), Blue Diamond hopeful Eternal Warrior (Listed Merson Cooper Stakes) and exciting prospects such as Hawker Hall pointing towards major autumn targets.

On the Mainland, CHC China region had a successful year in racing throughout 2025, setting the stage for an ambitious 2026 campaign. The team will compete in the prestigious China Horse Owners Alliance, one of the major racing events of 2026. Leading contenders such as Hanwei and Yitai Legend will spearhead the campaign, supported by promising 2 to 4 year old racehorses aiming for several high prize victories.

Meanwhile, CHC China has expanded the racing program to include the Hohhot carnival in 2026 after not participating during the 2025 season. This renewed involvement reflects CHC China’s strategy to diversify its racing presence by integrating fresh talent and stables. It marks an important step in broadening the organization’s influence within the national racing landscape while opening newavenues for competitive success.

As we close the year, we do so with genuine optimism, because building a farm, breeding programme and global racing operation of lasting stature is a long-term endeavour, and the promise coming through the pipeline is increasingly clear. Looking ahead to 2026, we’re excited to welcome back Florida Derby winner Tappan Street with major international targets on the radar, and to see the lightly raced The Pearls continue her rise before joining The Chase’s elite broodmare band in time. These results reflect a truly global strategy and a team effort we’re proud of; with 2025 now in the rear-view mirror, the ambition, energy and belief in what’s possible in 2026 are very much alive.

Our Path Forward: Building a Global Brand

Senadin Hall-

As we enter 2026, our mission is clear. We are not just developing a city; we are establishing a global brand for Sarawak in smart urban living and medical innovation, akin to how other brands lead in their fields. The KSC, anchored by a world-class academic and research partner in Fudan University, is our platform.

The coming year will be defined by the opening of the first Fudan University facilities, the acceleration of construction on the broader KSC site, and the landmark opening of the Senadin Hall in early Q2 of 2026 – a premier conference and exhibition venue that will be one of the largest in the region, capable of hosting up to 2,500 guests in a banquet setup. This progress will be complemented by the continuous pursuit of strategic partnerships that bring knowledge, investment, and talent to Sarawak.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. Together, we are building a future that is resilient, innovative, and profoundly impactful.
