Winners continue to roll in for members of the China Horse Club who have won 22 races in 2016 already – a record of more than one winner a week for the year. The surge of success was carried forward with two winners in different hemispheres today and lifted the 2016 tally of winners above the total number of winners the club enjoyed in its first season in 2013.
Some recent highlights include:
- 11 winners in 28 days across 5 countries
- Averaging better than a winner a week in 2016 (22 wins so far in 2016)
- A G3 win in Australia with stallion prospect Super One
- A second place in the USD2 million (RMB13 million) Kentucky Derby (America’s most famous horse race)
Jackfish and Rainbow Nation saluted in France and Australia respectively today to carry the number of wins in the month of May alone to eight. Both performers dominated their respective races with Jackfish posting his second win is as many starts.
Jackfish
“Our domestic and international racing teams are certainly in a rich vein of form at present and our members are being rewarded with some wonderful results,” said CHC Chairman, Teo Ah Khing.
Rainbow Nation
“The wins of Jackfish and Rainbow Nation follow the recent successes of Olympic Anthem, Super One, First Precinct, Kellstorm, Jackfish, Choreographer, Illustrate, Manus and Shanghai Bund over the last 30 days and we also ran a fantastic second in the Kentucky Derby with Exaggerator which we singled out as an elite stallion prospect. Exaggerator will be competing in some of the bigger races in the US in 2016. He is a very exciting horse and before the season is out he may show that he is a prospect for the USD5 million (RMB32.5 million) Breeders’ Cup Classic, next year’s USD10 million (RMB65 million) Dubai World Cup or a possible new race in the United States worth USD12 million (RMB78 million). He will tell us but it is an exciting journey to be on.
“We are investing heavily on quality racing stock on behalf of our members. Some members enjoy the thrill of racing performers locally or in specific international centres, others are motivated by investment opportunities within the thoroughbred industry. We cater for all outcomes and our continuing run of success is indicative that we are getting things right.”
The China Horse Club’s run of success comes at a time when it is importing its largest contingent of racehorses into China. The new batch of promising young performers will further strength its elite China based racing team and will provide new members with the opportunity to enjoy the experience of being a racehorse owner.
