Russian Revolution
The market has marked its clear interest in Russian Revolution at the first opportunity, elevating him to be the leading first season sire by price and by average.
The 2020 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale was held against a testing economic environment and at a time when leading bloodstock agents from New Zealand and Victoria were unable to participate because of closed borders. However, interest in the former China Horse Club colour bearer remained significant.
Across the two-day sale, a total of six weanlings by the two-time G1 winner were sold for an average of AUD75,000 the third highest average across all sires (with three or more lots sold) and the standout for first season sires.
A Russian Revolution colt out of Novel Dancer was the highest priced weanling by a first season sire in 2020 when changing hands for AUD150,000. The colt, a half-brother to stakes winner Pancho, was the equal fourth-highest price weanling to sell across the two-day sale. A Russian Revolution colt out of the stakes placed Miss Denni, traded for AUD95,000 while a further two sold for AUD80,000.
It was a strong endorsement for Russian Revolution at the first weanling sale of the year. The striking young sire has a further 15 weanling sons and daughters listed for sale later this month at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
