Wild Ruler winning the 2021 G1 Moir Stakes
Elite sprinter Wild Ruler has run his last race. The handsome entire becomes the sixth China Horse Club colour bearer to retire to Newgate Farm joining a crack honour roll headlined by the exceptional Extreme Choice (G1) and boom young sire Russian Revolution and inclusive of Flying Artie (G1), Cosmic Force (G2) and former Australian Horse of the Year Dissident (G1).
In a career defined by excellence, Wild Ruler contested 15 races, never running outside of stakes races from his third start onwards. He closes this chapter with a curriculum vitae of six wins, four placings and earnings of more than AUD2.6 million. Among those elite wins are the G1 Moir Stakes, G2 Arrowfield Stud Stakes and G2 Roman Consul Stakes.
“For three seasons Wild Ruler has demonstrated that he is among the premier short course performers in Australia,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian representative.
“His race record, his physical and his genetic makeup naturally draws parallels with Russian Revolution who has had such a tremendous start to his career.

Wild Ruler contested G1 contests at two, three and four with his AUD1 million G1 Moir Stakes triumph earning him a tilt at the AUD15 million 2021 The Everest – the world’s richest turf race.
The son of Snitzel was exceptionally well handled by trainers Peter and Paul Snowden and will return to Newgate Farm in preparation for the 2022 breeding season.
