Gasoline has fueled the explosive start to the new year for China Horse Club when becoming its third winner in 2023 and its fourth in less than a week.
The Todd Pletcher trainee showed tremendous grit and intention to fight back after being headed before the home corner, doggedly come back at his rivals before pulling away to score by half a length.
His success in the USD82,000 Allowance at Aqueduct was second in only eight starts and lifted his prize money total to north of USD151,000.
“Gasoline led and was unpressured but he was pressured just before the corner and was headed in the straight before showing plenty of guts and clawing his way back to win,” said Christie DeBernardis, China Horse Club’s Regional Manager (Americas).
Yellow Agate
“Gasoline should be able to build further upon this and continue to enhance the credentials of Yellow Agate who was a wonderful racing servant for China Horse Club and is now a highly commercial broodmare in our operations.”
Gasoline’s success follows recent wins from stablemate Falconet in the USD150,000 Ladies Stakes and the Australian based due of Sovereign Fund and Ringmaster.
