Fearless as yearling
A return to stakes company is likely for Fearless after the talented performer dominated his rivals in a USD84,558 Allowance Optional Claiming contest at Churchill Downs (USA) over the weekend. The bay’s barnstorming racing style was again well demonstrated as he came from last in the 11 strong fields to circle rivals and race away with an imposing two-and-a-quarter length win.
The victory was the third career win for Fearless from only five starts and was a reminder why the Todd Pletcher trained runner started an odds-on favorite in the USD400,000 New Orleans Classic in March. On that occasion, Fearless suffered a torrid run in transit regularly losing his momentum from buffeting from rivals and was unable to deliver his power-packed finished.

The three-year-old colt has been a work in progress for trainer Billy Mott but showed some grit when required to land the prize here. on the line, Battalion had a neck to spare over his rivals.
