Helix Park (Aus) (Nicconi {Aus}) delivered a lovely Hellbent (Aus) filly in the early morning hours August 20, making her the first mare to foal at The Chase for the 2025 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.
“Helix Park has had a very forward Hellbent filly with great bone and substance to be the first foal of the year born at The Chase,” said Michael Smith, CHC’s Regional Manager of Australasia. “Bred on the same cross as dual Group 1-winning mare Magic Time, we are particularly delighted to welcome this filly given Hellbent’s terrific record with his daughters on the track. Helix Park has a 2-year-old filly by Stay Inside in training with Chris Anderson and a Stay Inside yearling colt that will head to a premier sale in 2025.”
Helix Park was a two-time winner during her career on the racetrack. Her first foal Hyde (Snitzel) has captured seven races, including a pair of handicaps.
Hellbent is a Group 1-winning son of top Australian sire I Am Invincible and stands at Yarraman Park. In addition to Magic Time, his top performers include Group 1 winner Benedetta and Group 2 scorers Hell Hath No Fury and Kristilli.
