CHC’s newest stallions Life Is Good, a multiple Grade I-winning son of superstar stallion Into Mischief, and Nashville, a record-setting son of the late, great Speightstown, were represented by their first foals this month.

Into Mischief is a stallion who needs no introduction and has proven himself to be a sire of sires through the likes of Practical Joke and Goldencents. Life Is Good is one of his greatest sons to ever hit the racetrack, winning stallion-making races such as the GI Whitney S., GI Woodward S. and GI Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile in lightning-fast times.

There has been plenty of hype leading up to the arrival of Life Is Good’s first crop and they are proving worthy already. CHC’s first foal by Life Is Good arrived Jan. 26, a beautiful bay filly out of Just Angelic (Justify), a half-sister to European star Harry Angel (Ire).

“She looks fast!” said WinStar broodmare manager Tim Fazio.

“There have only been two or three or so far, but he is certainly stamping them,” said Christie DeBernardis, CHC’s Regional Manager of the Americas. “They all have hit the ground looking like miniature racehorses. They certainly look fast, athletic, and well-balanced. We are delighted with our first one to arrive and look forward to the rest.”

Speightstown has been a foundation stallion at WinStar and a perennial leading sire for almost two decades. His sons, including the highly regarded Munnings, have also made their mark at stud. A track record-setting stakes winner at Keeneland, Nashville looks poised to follow in his sire’s legendary hoofprints.

CHC has had two foals by Nashville this month, a strong colt out of homebred End Times (War Front) and a leggy filly out of maiden mare Pythoness (Liam’s Map).

“Both foals are fantastic representations of this exciting new addition to our stallion roster,” DeBernardis said. “The colt weighed in at 128 lbs. and is a strong, stout boy and the filly has tons of leg and scope to her. Both foals are very well made with good shape and size. They look balanced and quick. We are very pleased.”
