2025 MM GC sale

As the source of no less than four current stallions, all G1 winners, as well as three-time G1 winner Militarize in eight years, the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale was always going to be central to the future planning for the partnership of China Horse Club / Newgate Farm / Trilogy Racing and co.

The haul of notables is headlined by the above mentioned Militarize (2022 MM graduate) and includes Ozzmosis (2022), Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside (2020), Captivant (2020) and Invader (2016).

Heading into the third day of trading at the opening yearling sale for the Australian season, the syndicate has been judicious in its approach to build upon such an imperious record sourcing five colts by arguably the hottest stallions in Australia in Snitzel, Too Darn Hot, Zoustar and Wootton Bassett.

“The Magic Millions is a world class sale and our syndicate has always approached it meticulously and with a mindset that we can source elite colts at a price point that works for our model,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian Representative.

“Over the opening days of the sale we have been selective and sourced four quality individuals who we believe, as a collective, can play their role in getting our group back to the Magic Millions in 12 months time and, more importantly, deliver on our goal to win at the highest level and create commercial stallions.”

The secured colts set to race in the China Horse Club’s red and yellow silks are:

Snitzel x Warranty colt-Snitzel x Warrant colt

Too Darn Hot x Asteroidea colt-Too Darn Hot x Asteroidea colt

Snitzel x Dream Date colt-Snitzel x Dream Date colt

Zoustar x Fuddle Dee Duddle colt-Zoustar x Fuddle Dee Duddle colt

Wootton Bassett x Hussyanna coltWootton Bassett x Hussyanna colt

“Four stunning colts, all very athletic, all with the physical credentials to make their mark if they have the ability,” Smith continued.

“Twelve months ago, we sourced Quietly Arrogant out of this ring, on Saturday he takes his place in the AUD3,000,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Hopefully he can continue progressing towards feature G1s in the autumn as well. It is a well-established model but has been productive for our group.”

The auction continues for a further two days.
