Revolutionary Miss
The China Horse Club bred Revolutionary Miss was targeted by local and international breeders before Japanese powerhouse, Katsumi Yoshida, fended off all rivals with an AUD1.6 million winning bid on the opening day of the 2025 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast, Australia.
The result is a further celebration for syndicator Triple Crown and their connections who initially purchased the China Horse Club graduate for AUD195,000 and were taken on a wondrous journey as she won seven times, was just touched out in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes and G1 Thousand Guineas, and amassed AUD1.8 million in prizemoney.
It also carried on a tradition of the very best of China Horse Club bred fillies and mares being sourced by the breeding industry’s biggest players.
Saffron Beach (GN3,600,000 / USD4,800,000) remains the benchmark following her sale at Tattersalls in 2023. Her return superseding earlier high-profile auction results for graduates headlined by Valiance (USD3,000,000) and Kimari (USD2,700,000).
“It’s a fairytale result and just such a wonderful experience for all the owners here today,” said Chris Ward of Triple Crown on Breednet.com.au.
“They came to experience a different side to the whole industry, which is great, it’s not all about raceday, and Magic Millions put on a great day and they get all the buyers here, so it’s a great result all round.
“I think there’s probably about 18 different owners of all different share sizes. Whether you own 2.5 percent or you own 100 percent, it’s a massive result and a lot of lifelong friends have been made amongst this group, so it’s really pleasing.”
“She was pretty unlucky actually not to get that Group I result on the track, she went awfully close, but we effectively got a Group 1 result today.”
Revolutionary Miss has been a long standing example of the very best virtues of Russian Revolution, racing at the highest level and winning group races season after season from the age of two to five. Her relocation into the breeding operation of Yoshida is exceptionally exciting considering his involvement in both the Japanese and Australian industries.
