Olympic Anthem lived up to his reputation as the red-hot favourite when he won the $80,000 G3 race over 1100m on 19 June. Trainer Michael Freedman, who enjoyed two wins that night, was over the moon with the chestnut gelding’s progress.

“He has all the ability in the world but he is as headstrong as they come,” said Freedman.
“He tends to get a little keen in his races. But he has a good turn of foot and if he can settle into a good spot, he can go on and finish off from there.”
CHC racing and bloodstock manager Michael Wallace was equally thrilled.
“It was great to see Olympic Anthem win so well. He has come back well from a bleeding ban. A horse with an abundance of natural ability, we feel he can progress well in Singapore to a higher grade and provide CHC members with plenty of exciting times.”
The CHC has enjoyed plenty of exciting times indeed, for the spotlight was on the club again barely two days later. Star colt Wimbledon secured his third victory in a row on Sunday at the $80,000 Kranji Stakes C (1200m), giving members five wins from him from only 12 starts.

“Wimbledon is the ultimate professional. He’s only been out of the top 3 one time in his career. He loves to race and has a great attitude. Credit to Michael Freedman and his team with two from two for the weekend,” said Wallace.
The win gives the club a second option after Friday winner Olympic Anthem at the upcoming Korea Racing Authority Trophy (1200m) on 26 July. Wallace is optimistic.
“Two from two for the weekend, we’ve done nicely. We may look to run both in the KRA race in late July.”
