The China Horse Club USA kicked off 2015 in imperious fashion when new purchase Parranda streeted rivals in the $150 000 Marshua’s River Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park in the United States.

The six-year-old daughter of English Channel was one of four purchases by the CHC at Fasig Tipton’s November Sale last year and the Marshua’s River Stakes was an immediate reward for the faith placed in her. The outstanding race mare is expected to play a lead role in the CHC’s international racing operation throughout 2015.

“Parranda was a priority for the CHC as we searched for quality mares for our members. There is a growing interest from members at being involved in mares that can compete in elite races and then play a role in high quality broodmares and Parranda has a great deal still to offer as she has just shown,”said Eden Harrington, General Manager of the China Horse Club.

“Christophe (Clement) and his team have done very well with her in a short time and it is rewarding to secure our first stakes win for the New Year.”

Parranda settled in third behind pacesetter Skylander Girl and Alette before angling out and producing a burst of speed that sent her firmly to the front, drawing out a three-length victory. Trainer Christophe Clement views the victory at Marshua as ideal preparation for the dynamic mare’s start in Singapore.

The Marshua Stakes was the 11th career win of Parranda. The chestnut is already a G2 winner and multiple G1 placegetter and has shown herself extremely adept on turf, dirt and synthetic surfaces. In 2014 alone, she has already won, placed or contested races worth a total of USD$3 750 000.
