Almost a year to the day after Russian Roulette sold through the inaugural Magic Millions draft of The Chase, he announced himself as a genuine prospect with a slick trial win at his first attempt.
The Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott trainee was the second most expensive Russian Revolution sold at the 2023 Magic Millions when trading for AUD360,000 – a figure that looks well by the manner in which he led throughout in his 812m Warwick Farm hitout.
The juvenile colt is the latest talented Russian Revolution to emerge from the China Horse Club’s Australian breeding programme which already includes the notables:
- G1 victor Communist (1st G1 Randwick Guineas)
- Millionairess Revolutionary Miss (1st G2 Kewney Stakes, 1st G2 Blue Diamond Prelude, 2nd G1 Blue Diamond Stakes, 2nd G1 Thousand Guineas)
- Perfect Proposal (2nd G3 Gimcrack Stakes).
Savabeel x Purcentage colt: An exceptional half brother to two stakes winners
In 2024, The Chase is presenting an 11 strong draft on behalf of China Horse Club Australia that Stud Manager Alex Kingston has described as “high quality”.
“In 2023 China Horse Club’s breeding programme was represented by two G1 winners in Ozzmosis and Communist. For a boutique breeding operation that is very significant,” Kingston said.
I Am Invincible x Hasahalo filly: “The I Am Invincible x Hasahalo filly is certainly to command attention”
“I’m very excited about the quality of yearlings we will be offering at the Gold Coast this month. In 2022 China Horse Club sold Ozzmosis who has gone on to win the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and secure his place at stud.
“And from the 2023 draft Russian Roulette is already standing tall. As we look at the 2024 draft, there is every chance we can add to the Club’s honour roll of stakes winners with the quality of draft we are presenting. It is high quality.”
