Exceptional filly, Tulsi, may have a date with champion sire Zoustar after joining China Horse Club’s star-studded Australian broodmare band after being secured at the 2025 Chairman’s Sale in Sydney, Australia.

Blessed with gorgeous dimensions, Tulsi topped the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and backed those looks up with quality racetrack performances. Runner-up in the G1 Sistema Stakes, New Zealand’s premier juvenile event, Tulsi was also third in the G1 NZ Thousand Guineas.

Importantly, Tulsi is a daughter of emerging classic force, The Autumn Sun, and also heralds from an Australian speed family steeped in elite racing performance. Her dam is a half-sister to G1 Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi and Tulsi herself is a half-sister to the dam of this season’s Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes winner in Tremonti.

“I’m delighted to be able to secure Tulsi for the China Horse Club, she is a quality individual in every respect,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian Representative.

“No mating plan has been confirmed for her as yet. She could suit a number of stallions among our portfolio including Zoustar who we’ve enjoyed great success with.”

China Horse Club bred and sold Zoustar’s highest profile sire-son to date, the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Ozzmosis and they are also familiar in selling million dollar yearlings by the Widden Stud based star.

Tulsi will be relocated to The Chase which is already home to a selection of the club’s elite mares including Dame Giselle (four-time G2 winner), Ballistic Lover G2), Cappadocia (dam of G1 Communist), Caricature (dam of last week’s G2 Queensland Guineas winner Depth of Character), Princess Grace (multiple G1 placed), Purcentage (dam of AUD1.8mil earner Revolutionary Miss).
