The G1 Golden Slipper is the race every Australian wants to win and has been a prolific, breed-shaping race. As such, the pressure for Golden Slipper-winning colts to perform at stud is immense.
Raced by China Horse Club in partnership, Stay Inside secured a breathtaking victory in the Slipper and has made every post a winning one with his runners, capturing the first three three races they have contested.
“Incognito put the writing on the wall when he annexed the first 2-year-old stakes race of the season in the time-honored Group 3 Breeder’s Plate,” said Michael Smith, CHC’s Regional Manager of Australasia. “Stay Inside fillies, Inhabit and Lassified, have followed suit with smart debut wins in South Australia and New Zealand, respectively.”
By the elite Newgate stallion Extreme Choice, Stay Inside followed his trial win with two more victories, including the Pierro Plate. He stamped himself as a leader in his division two starts later with a triumph in the Golden Slipper.
“Stay Inside was such a natural talent on the track as a 2-year-old, doing everything with ease, and that has certainly looked to have transferred to his progeny with the way they are running and winning,” said Smith. “He is the heir apparent to his elite sire Extreme Choice and a young stallion we are supporting strongly again this season. It’s early days, but if his stock continue on the track like they have started, he really could be something special.”
