China Horse Club International and Gerard Augustin-Normand’s Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1-placed Survie summoned $1.9-million guineas from Coolmore at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale.
“We’ve taken immense pleasure in racing Survie, a top-class mare who danced every dance, and we are thrilled with the price she realized,” said Matt Houldsworth, CHC’s Regional Manager of Europe. “Raced in partnership with Gérard Augustin-Normand, she has been a wonderful flagbearer for us. We wish M.V. Magnier and his team every success with her going forward and thank Tattersalls for facilitating her sale in the wonderful theatre that is Tattersalls.”
Consigned by Nicolas Clement and Frauke Hermans, Survie finished second by just a head in last year’s G1 Prix de Diane and went on to capture the G2 Prix de Malleret in her next start. She also finished second in the G1 Prix Jean Romanet and third in the G1 Pretty Polly Stakes.
“She’s a very good filly and Nicolas Clement has done a great job with her,” said Coolmore’s M.V. Magnier. “We’re going to talk to Michael and Doreen [Tabor] and see what they want to do, but she might stay in training. We’ll make a plan in the next couple of days.”
China Horse Club bought half of Survie from her owner/breeder Augustin-Normand in September of 2024, ahead of a solid run in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Survie is a daughter of the listed-winning and Group 2-placed mare Sotteville and hails from the family of G1 Champion Stakes winner King of Steel and Australian Champion Contributer.
