Cambridge Stud’s affinity with champion sire Zoustar continued with the famed New Zealand nursery zeroing in on a striking daughter of group winner Yattarna sold by The Chase.
The graduate of the China Horse Club’s Australian breeding programme became the most expensive of 10 Zoustar fillies to sell to date at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when Cambridge Stud’s Henry Plumptre indicated his final bid at AUD525,000.
“Cambridge Stud knows a good Zoustar when they see one and we can’t wait to see this filly in their yellow and black check silks,” said Mike Smith, the China Horse Club’s Australian Representative.
“Hopefully she can continue the success the Lindsay family is enjoying right now with the likes of Joliestar and Zourion.”
The Zoustar x Yattarna filly will bid to continue the great success of Cambridge Stud
The Zoustar x Yattarna filly became the third lot presented and sold by The Chase at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale with a further eight set to sell over the coming days. At the time of writing, she is the ninth most expensive filly to have sold.
“Alex and the team are presenting a quality draft at this year’s Magic Millions. It is a draft where each representative has genuine appeal for this market and where there is a depth of pedigrees as well.
“We hope to find very good homes for each of them just as we have done in recent years with the likes of other CHC graduates like Ozzmosis.”
Cambridge Stud’s affinity with Zoustar is headlined by last spring’s G1 Thousand Guineas heroine Joliestar and includes fellow gifted filly Zourion (1st G2 Matamata Breeders’ Plate; 3rd G2 Thousand Guineas Prelude) and Habana (1st G2 Rich Hill Mile).
