The rise and rise of Russian Revolution continues unabated with a juvenile double elevating the boom sire to the status of Australia’s leading sire by two-year-old winners. The brace of winners was headlined by a slick win from the China Horse Club bred, The King, who is under consideration for better contests over the Brisbane Winter Carnival if he can score at his next race in Sydney.

Russian Revolution can now attest to 13 two-year-old winners this season headlined by stakes winners Red Resistance (G3) and The Instructor (LR) and stakes placed Perfect Proposal (G3p) and Physical Graffiti (G3p).

This latest achievement, against all comers, parlays his status as Australia’s dominant Second Season Sire and last season’s title of Leading First Season Sire.

“Russian Revolution is exceptionally exciting and is shaping as the heir apparent to champion sire Snitzel,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian Representative.

“The King is a lovely style of colt who was raised in China Horse Club’s system. We liked him so much we retained a piece of him with great partners and look forward to what we hope is continued success this preparation and beyond.”

The King is the fourth foal out of China Horse Club’s Why Be Discreet and was sold to a syndicate headlined by Trilogy Bloodstock for AUD320,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Trilogy backed up to buy a Pride of Dubai half-sister to The King out of the draft of The Chase this year. Why Be Discreet has a Cosmic Force filly on the ground.

China Horse Club’s support for Russian Revolution has been unwavering since his retirement. The Australian breeding programme has generated several of the sire’s better performers including Communist (1st G1 Randwick Guineas) and Revolutionary Miss (2 x G2).
