Sometimes there is no shame in coming second, especially if it is to a true star, and that certainly applies for Commengy, a former Australian based ‘miler’emerged as a star sprinter in China in 2015. The manner in which Commengy roared between runners from back in the field to street rivals in the 2015 CECF Goffs Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup (1200m) was indicative of a star in the making. A new season awaits and Commengy can stride upon it with genuine authority.
