The mantle already includes a G1 honour and titles such as NSW Horse of the Year, NSW Three-Year-Old of the Year and NSW Queen of the Turf. The Year of the Monkey is hoped to see First Seal establish her place in the pantheon of CHC racing greats as well as earning the right to race internationally. To do that she will need to annex some of Australia’s elite races. The focus is likely to include the $A600,000 Coolmore Classic, $A3 million Doncaster Handicap or $A1 million Queen of the Turf Stakes in March and April of this year. An excitement machine at her best, First Seal has a habit of delivering on the big occasions.
