The CHC enjoyed notable success with two wins in Europe last weekend.
Following a Galway maiden win last September, Montjeu colt Archangel Raphael returned to the winner’s enclosure at the Class 1 The Children Under 18 Free Everyday At Fairyhouse Rated Race (2400m) in Ireland on 5 July 2015. Partnered with jockey Joseph O’Brien, the three-year-old kept on strongly in the final furlong and won by two lengths.

Amid scenes of jubilation, Archangel Raphael, equipped with both first-time cheek-pieces and a tongue-strap, made it clear that it was a one horse race when he scored an easy success over main contender Outspoken.
“It was never really in doubt. A mile and a half is no problem to him, and I’d say he’ll get further in time,” said O’Brien.
Racing and Bloodstock Manager of the CHC, Michael Wallace, was thrilled.
“It was great to see this Montjeu colt back on the track. He showed us very nice ability as a 2yo but a couple of minor setbacks have held us up into his 3yo season. We believe he has the opportunity now to go forward onto the big stage. We are very excited by him,” said Wallace.
The exceptional colt is owned with Coolmore, Derek Smith and Michael Tabor, and has had two wins and a second placing in just 3 starts.
Meanwhile in France, Nicolas Clement-trained Morgenlicht won a 2100m maiden for three year olds. The talented filly secured her first victory after a few unlucky starts, demonstrating her ability to win more in the future.

“This filly has been very unlucky in her limited starts so far, not to have secured a victory before today. This race will be a nice confidence boost heading forward. We feel she has the ability to move forward into the back part of the season with some more CHC victories,” said Wallace.
