Wimbledon became China Horse Club’s 20th winner for 2015 when dashing clear of rivals on Singapore’s most celebrated night of racing. Jockey Corey Brown stole the Singapore Airlines Airbus 330 Stakes Class 3 (1200m) with a brilliant front-running display on the fleet footed colt to bring up the winning mark.

Wimbledon(no 9) crossing the finishing line

Wimbledon joins fellow CHC stars Dissident, Parranda, Hans Holbein and A La Victory as a two time winner already this season with the club enjoying wins from no less than 15 individual performers.

“It is a credit to our operation that we have reached this mark in much a faster time that last season and that the success has been shared across so many racehorses and across different regions of the world. That is encouraging for our members,” said Eden Harrington, General Manager for the China Horse Club.

“Wimbledon is a very honest racehorse who has done a fantastic job to win for the fourth time in his career. He now has a record of four wins and five placings in only 11 career starts and he is still a colt so he may play an important role in China in the future.”

Wimbledon was among a trio of performers brought to Singapore less than a year ago by the China Horse Club. That trio was subsequently named Wimbleon, A La Victory and Al Valore and collectively has won 10 races, placed in a further 11 races and collected prize money of in excess of S$500,000 (RMB2.3 million).

“The record of these three performers makes compelling reading and is an indication of what we can do for you if you are considering becoming a member of our club,” Harrington added.

“People want to enjoy success and they want the chance to be on the winners’ podium and to pick up some prize money. We are doing that with horses like Wimbledon, A La Victory and Al Valore who all have an encouraging future ahead of them.

“In 12 months time these three racehorses could be racing in stakes races for big prizes and even bigger glory. In that time I expect we will have other talented performers emerge from around the world. We have a number of promising unraced horses on our books right now and there is no better time to begin an exciting journey with our club than in 2015.”
