After an auspicious launching of its agistment arm, The Chase, at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the China Horse Club turns its focus to the 2024 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale where it will sell stock for the first time later this month.
Western Australia’s premier yearling sale is a new market for China Horse Club but one it has been monitoring and intends to support over the coming seasons with the retirement of its former sprinter Marine One to Mogumber Park last year.
Colts by elite sires Zoustar and Russian Revolution will be presented through the Willow Dale Farm draft and have been selected to meet an appetite of ‘type’ and ‘precocity’.
“We are trading one of only two Zoustars and one of only three Russian Revolutions and we believe they have the credentials to appeal to the buying bench,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian representative.

“The Zoustar x Clear Ripples colt (Lot 37) comes up early on Day 1. He’s a half to three winners and is from the Shania Dane family which keeps producing good horses like Man From Uncle (G2) and Head of State (G3).
“The Russian Revolution x Penang colt (Lot 131) looks fast and that’s no surprise. His dam is by I Am Invincible and won over 900m. He’s a powerful example of Russian Revolution whose stock have been appreciated in Western Australia in the past.”

The Chase, powered by China Horse Club, closed the close of the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale with a stream of highlights:
- 2nd Leading Vendor by Average (AUD180,000)
- 2nd Leading Vendor by Median (AUD175,000)
- One of only two vendors to sell two yearlings at AUD300,000 or above
- Sold 3rd highest priced colt of the auction
- Sold highest priced Extreme Choice yearling
These results have followed on from a strong start at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where The Chase was operating for only the second occasion. At the end of trading its achievements included:
- A 36% year-on-year increase in yearling averages
- Highest priced Zoustar filly (Zoustar x Yattarna AUD525,000)
- Highest priced Capitalist filly (Capitalist x Nurse Kitchen AUD500,000)
- Highest priced So You Think colt (So You Think x Crystal Flute AUD325,000)
- Highest priced filly of the final session
- Second highest priced Flying Artie yearling (Flying Artie x Ordos Honor AUD130,000)
“It has been a very encouraging start to 2024 for both China Horse Club and The Chase,” Smith said.
“We are immensely thankful to the support we continue to receive from buyers who appreciate that we are bringing our best to market and meeting the market as well.
“We will be working very hard to maintain this momentum in Perth and through The Chase at Inglis Premier and the Inglis Easter over the coming months.”
