China Horse Club enjoyed great success as sellers at Magic Millions Thursday when a filly by the late Alter Call (Lot 600) summoned AUD$1.15 million from McEvoy/Mitchell Racing and Belmont Bloodstock Agency. China Horse Club bred the filly in partnership with Newgate Farm, who consigned her.
In addition to a stunning physical, the bay filly is from a strong family. Her dam Alter Call is a half-sister to G1 Golden Slipper S. winner Estijaab and dual stakes winner Remarque. Lot 600 is the only surviving foal out of her stakes-winning dam, who passed away earlier this year.
China Horse Club also enjoyed a strong day of selling through their consignment The Chase Thursday. The very first yearling to go through the ring for their new stallion Strasbourg (Lot 433) was a home run, summoning AUD$220,000, well past his service fee of AUD$11,000. The Chase also sold a daughter of China Horse Club stallion Russian Revolution (Lot 632) for AUD$180,000 Thursday.
