China Horse Club is being propelled into 2022 off the equal-second best season since its inception after Americanrevolution became its sixth individual G1 winner for the season. Not since a banner 2018, when the club won no less than 12 G1 races worldwide headlined by Justify’s historic undefeated U.S. Triple Crown campaign, has the Club been represented by six individual G1 winners in a calendar year.
The news will certainly reinforce the belief established and new partners of China Horse Club having in its racing operations. In recent months, the Club has welcomed new Chinese partners into a portfolio of elite colts purchased from the United States. It has also formed a partnership with Ghandavi Racing who has purchased a stake in yearlings in the United States as well as a promising colt in Britain.
“This has been a very rewarding year for all involved with China Horse Club,” said its COO, Michael Wallace.
“Thank you to all of our partners, trainers, jockeys, support teams and the back of house teams within the Club itself. A year like this isn’t possible without a collective effort.
“The quality of performers we currently have is exceedingly exciting. There is a great deal to look forward to in 2022, not only from the Club’s established stars, but also from the next generation of talent that is coming through.”
The progressive Americanrevolution stamped himself as elite when racing away with the USD750,000 G1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct (USA) over the weekend. In the process, he lifted the China Horse Club’s tally of G1s to 41 and joined a list of current season G1 winners in Captivant (Aus), In The Congo (Aus), Life Is Good (USA), Stay Inside (Aus) and Wild Ruler (Aus). Importantly, all six are colts and future commercial stallion prospects.
The trajectory of Americanrevolution’s rise has been preposterous. In late June he made his seasonal return in a maiden. A string of three success wins justified a tilt at the G1 Pennsylvania Derby in late September and now, in mid-December, he is a proven G1 winner.
“[Americanrevolution] is a very rare horse. You see his figures, he has improved at every start of his life,” champion trainer Todd Pletcher said in the Thoroughbred Daily News.
“That’s great to see. That was a hard-earned win, but he fought on.”
Life Is Good and Americanrevolution are expected to spearhead the U.S. divisions assault on major international and domestic carnivals in 2022. The Longines IFHA World Horse Rankings assessed Life Is Good as the world’s equal high ranked dirt three-year-old, world’s equal high ranked dirt miler and world’s equal second-best dirt racehorse off his astonishing near six length win in the USD1,000,000 G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. On current ratings, only the expected U.S. Horse of the Year Go Knicks, stands ahead of him when assessing dirt track performers.
The duo may well clash early in 2022 in the USD3,000,000 G1 Pegasus World Cup. The Pegasus World Cup is likely to be a litmus test to determine if Life Is Good is campaigned overseas in lucrative contests in the Middle East which include USD20 million Saudi Cup and the USD12 million Dubai World Cup.
In Australia a phalanx of sprint stars is expected to feature prominently across multiple carnivals. Artorius, Captivant, In The Congo, Stay Inside and Wild Ruler have the potential to add to their already imposing records before retiring to stud.
Collectively, this portfolio of stars has the capacity to continue the China Horse Club’s unbroken run of G1 wins since it commenced racing in 2013.
