frankel-frontFrankel – Alexander Goldrun filly

The China Horse Club has fought off the world’s biggest racing stables and breeders to secure the jewel of Goff’s Orby Sale overnight in Ireland. The stunning Frankel – Alexander Goldrun filly headed the wish list of industry leaders from across the Middle East, Ireland, Europe and the United States but will do her racing for Chinese connections after the club’s Bloodstock Manager Michael Wallace fought off all comers.

The purchase comes on the eve of the club’s members contesting three G1 races in different hemispheres in eight days. Quality stayer Orbec, a French import, will duel in the RMB4,500,000 G1 Metropolitan Handicap (2400m) in Sydney this Saturday, a day before Johannes Vermeer lines up in the RMB2,500,000 G1 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (1600m) on the undercard of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting at Longchamp. The following week, the CHC’s colours will be carried into battle by Press Statement once again, this time in the RMB4,500,000 G1 Caulfield Guineas in Melbourne.

All three performers are leading chances, all three are potentially multi-million dollar stallion prospects, all three are capable of bringing members into winners circle on the biggest of stages.

“The goal is excellence and we need to be unwavering in our objective of delivering our members into the winners’ circles of the world’s great races and great race meetings,” said Eden Harrington, Vice President and Head (Partnership/Membership).

“It is rewarding to see that our members have won seven races in the previous 11 days. It is equally important that they are playing a role in major races in Europe and Australia as well as in Asia and the United States. To consistently compete at this level our members need to be active at the world’s best markets and Goff’s Orby Sale has showcased some quality yearlings and the Frankel – Alexander Goldrun filly was spectacular.

“This filly is a daughter of an undefeated world champion in Frankel, his case as the best of all time has been explained at length. Alexander Goldrun was an exceptional race mare in her own right being a five time G1 winner in Ireland, Europe and Hong Kong. Her Hong Kong Cup win still resonates with many who saw it.

“This filly has immense value on her pedigree alone. Should she win a G1 race her value multiples. Should she become the mother of G1 winner in time her value is immense.  Her physical makeup, coupled with this pedigree, has ensured that she was clearly the horse that all the big players from around the world wanted. We are delighted that it is members of the China Horse Club that will have the privilege of racing her.”

No trainer has been singled out for the filly as yet but she will join an international racing team bringing with talent. In just over two years of racing the China Horse Club has won more than 100 races for its members, it has secured an interest in no less than eight commercial stallions that currently are or will generate huge incomes for their owners and it became the first ownership group in Australia to win the NSW Horse of the Year title and Victorian Horse of the Year title in the same season.
