China Horse Club has expanded its already considerable interest in what the auctioneer called the “world’s hottest stallion” when securing a share in Extreme Choice at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale on Friday evening.

The Club, who raced Extreme Choice in partnership with Newgate Farm and the colt’s original owners, has long believed in the capabilities of the chestnut supporting him with elite mares and targeting his premier yearling stock in partnerships.

“Extreme Choice is a once in a generation stallion. He is young, throws exceptional precocity and is freakish in upgrading his stock,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australasian Representative.

“There is limited access to Extreme Choice and you cannot guarantee you will be able to buy his very best stock through the ring. We have interests in Stay Inside, Tiger of Malay and Extreme Warrior. You simply cannot have enough access to a stallion of this stature.”

With only two crops of racing stock on the track, Extreme Choice is running at an extraordinary 18.25 percent stakes winners to runners. Among his seven stakes winners to date are headline acts:

  • Stay Inside (2021 Golden Slipper winner and boom stallion prospect)
  • She’s Extreme (2022 G1 Champagne Stakes winner and runner-up in the 2022 G1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes)
  • Recently retired stallion prospect Tiger of Malay (2021 G2 BTC Sires Produce Stakes)
  • crack sprinter and stallion prospect Extreme Warrior (G3 Sapphire Stakes winner and G1 Goodwood Handicap aspirant)

China Horse Club’s Australian division is blessed with access to an array of premium stallions to match up to its enviable broodmare band. Extreme Choice headlines a portfolio inclusive of Zoustar, Russian Revolution, Stay Inside, Deep Field and more.
