The China Horse Club’s Prince Racing Stable enjoyed a landmark afternoon when its first runner after the CECF Singapore was a winner. The new syndicate only began racing at the 2015 CECF Singapore in February and today’s Singapore meeting was its first to enjoy racing since that showpiece race day and the syndicate enjoyed a red letter day with the game performer Arrowhead. The hulking four-year-old rallied from well off the speed to collect the Kranji D Stakes (1200m) for trainer Desmond Koh, jockey Alan Munro and the members of Prince Racing.

It was the first winner as well for Koh as a trainer for the China Horse Club with Arrowhead debuting for him this afternoon. Koh was naturally excited by the performance which saw the first for the four-year-old competing for the first time in three months.

“Prince Racing is made up of Chinese members of the China Horse Club who are enjoying Singapore racing and this is a fantastic result for them and for Desmond,” said Eden Harrington, General Manager for the China Horse Club.

“Arrowhead is a tough and game performer who has won the third race of his career. Every winner counts for our members and for us so it is great to see another result like this. Desmond deserves great credit. He is still learning about Arrowhead and he has placed him to great effect here. Hopefully this is not the last winner we have with him and with Arrowhead.”

Typically Arrowhead has improved with racing and that augurs well for the months ahead. Interesting, Arrowhead added a new string to his bow when showing he could come from well off the pace to win. In each of his preceding starts the brown gelding has led or raced on the pace before proving too dogged for his rivals.
