“The team has settled into Chengdu very well, every horse has recovered well from the trip from Wuhan and I enjoyed watching their first training session at the track this morning,” the trainer said.

“Our jockeys are reporting that all horses are feeling well and are relaxed and some may have improved from Wuhan which is a good sign. We will have access to the turf tracks over the next two mornings and that should see them fine-tuned before the weekend.”
Many of the CHC’s racehorses have shown a preference to turf and Cassidy is mindful of this as he looks to have up to nine horses competing. The likes of 2014 Sir Owen Glenn Sprint Cup winner (1000m) The Ferryman is one such example and the strapping some of Galileo will be tried in China over 2000m for the first time, a distance Cassidy sees as his optimum now that he has matured.
