Classic winning filly Just The Judge makes 4.5 million gns

China Horse Club buy quarter share

After reaching a price of 4.5 million gns in the ring on day two of the Tattersalls December Mare Sale, the Classic winning filly JUST THE JUDGE will race for a new partnership in 2015. The China Horse Club has acquired the 25% share in the filly previously owned by the Sangster Family with the remaining 75% staying with Qatar Racing.

In 2015, running in the joint ownership of Qatar Racing and the China Horse Club, JUST THE JUDGE will remain in training with Charlie Hills. She will be campaigned in Europe and abroad as she seeks to add to her 2014 exploits, which included a Grade 1 success in the E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine and three placings in top flight company, in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Santa Anita, the Beverly D Stakes at Arlington Park and the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

David Redvers, Racing and Bloodstock Advisor to Qatar Racing, said:

“We are delighted, as well as relieved, to have retained our share in JUST THE JUDGE and we are looking forward to owning her in conjunction with the China Horse Club. She clearly handles travelling well and a filly of her class and versatility will no doubt give Sheikh Fahad and his brothers and the members of the China Horse Club some thrilling days at the major meetings around the world.

“Following the conclusion of her racing career, Just The Judge will be retired to Tweenhills as a most valued addition to Qatar Bloodstock’s band of broodmares, with the China Horse Club retaining their 25% stake. As the filly responsible for providing Qatar Racing with its first European Classic winner she will always hold a special place in Sheikh Fahad’s heart, she is an outstanding broodmare prospect and will be visiting the world’s best stallions.”

Teo Ah Khing, Chairman of the China Horse Club said;

“Qatar Racing have shown themselves to be international leaders by winning races all over the globe, sponsoring great events and elevating the sport. To partner with an organisation as successful as Qatar Racing is very exciting for the China Horse Club and opens up wonderful possibilities.”
