Just weeks out from the world’s biggest yearling sale, Keeneland September, the credentials of one of China Horse Club’s highest profile yearling colts is enjoying a further boost after his half-brother streeted rivals by more than six lengths at the esteemed Saratoga race meet overnight.

The monster performance by Gasoline in his USD105,000 Maiden Special Weight attracted justified praise and is naturally shinning a light on his soon to be offered half-brother.

“I’m impressed with this victory,” Hall of Fame Jockey Gary Steven said of Gasoline on Fox Sports.

“This horse is reaching in the last eight of a mile, he is running right through the line.”

Gasoline’s half-brother is one of a series of notable China Horse Club bred yearlings to be offered by Highgate Sales at Keeneland September. The Todd Pletcher trainee was himself a USD435,000 Fasig Tipton Select Yearling Sale graduate.

Listed as Lot 120 (https://catalog.keeneland.com/catalog/hip/0120/?103), Gasoline’s half-brother is a smashing son of the exceptional Quality Road and out of the brilliant G1 winner Yellow Agate, so already has much in his favour.

Quality Road has left no less than 14 individual G1 winners who have dominated across different sex, distance and race surface divisions. Among his most gifted is the Eclipse Award winning Abel Tasman who was raced with great success by Clearsky Farms and China Horse Club before setting a sale record figure of USD 5 million when secured by Coolmore in 2019.

Yellow Agate etched her name onto the honour roll of the G1 Frizette Stakes at only her second career start.
