On the ever of his seasonal debut, Life Is Good has been reaffirmed as one of world racing’s glittering stars. The release of the season ending Longines IFHA World Racehorse Rankings for 2021 has seen the WinStar Farm and China Horse Club owned talisman anointed as:
- World’s equal high ranked dirt three-year-old
- World’s equal second best dirt racehorse
Fellow China Horse Club colour bearers In The Congo and Wild Ruler were also recognized with ratings of 115.
“It is an enormous accolade to Life Is Good and to the team who manages him that he has been recognized internationally in this way,” said Eden Harrington, Vice President of the China Horse Club.
“The Longines IFHA World’s Best Racehorse Rankings align performers from all racing jurisdictions, across varying distance demographics and racing surfaces. The body of work that Life Is Good is assembling, especially his performance at the 2021 Breeders’ World Championship, is exceptional and deserving of recognition. We hope he can continue his trajectory in 2022.
“It is also a rewarding assessment for In The Congo and Wild Ruler who stamped themselves of premier turf sprinters in Australia last spring. Hopefully they can both build further on their records this year as well.”
The Longines IFHA World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are the equivalent to the ATP Tennis Rankings, World Golf Rankings, FIFA world rankings for soccer and IRB World Rankings. In recent years China Horse Club has been well represented with the likes of Justify, Abel Tasman, Improbable, Australia, Yoshida and Madison County.
Life Is Good makes his awaited return to the track in Saturday’s USD3 million Pegasus World Cup at Florida’s Gulfstream Park. He will square off with Knicks Go who was ranked the world’s best racehorse on the Longines IFHA rankings following his dominant win in the 2021 G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
