MacCorleot became the fourth juvenile winner from as many starters in the United States for the China Horse Club in 2016 when dominating a lucrative 11 strong maiden.
The Wesley Ward trained filly joins Theory, One Liner and Good Samaritan who were all impressive debut winners over the last 40 days. The quartet are part of a talented first back of runners the China Horse Club sourced from yearling and two-year-old sales over the last 12 months.
“It was a dominant win by MacCorleot and a win that was good to see. She is a progressive filly with a future,” said Michael Wallace, Racing and Bloodstock Manager for the China Horse Club.
“She won well over the weekend and she should progress further from that. Hopefully she can measure up to stakes company at her next start.”
MacCorleot had a length-and-three-quarters advantage over her nearest rival in the USD130,000 Maiden Special Weight (1300m) at Kentucky Downs having enjoyed a positive ride from the jump. The daughter of boom stallion Uncle Mo set the speed early and when challenged by rivals in the straight had little trouble fending them off before racing away.
MacCorleot became the third winner this month for members of the China Horse Club with Fabvier and Clear Ripples having saluted in Australia last week.
