The 2022 Pegasus World Cup was one of the racing highlights for boom stallion Life Is Good
The demand for the first crop weanlings of boom stallion Life Is Good was undeniable at Keeneland over the opening days of trading at its iconic November Breeding Stock Sale. On Day 2 of the sale, Life Is Good topped all first crop weanling sires with his stock averaging an encouraging USD328,333.
Among the star lots for the WinStar Farm based sire was the China Horse Club bred Lot 1050, the most expensive Life Is Good colt to sell at auction to date. The son of Lady Aces was prepped and sold through Taylor Made Sales Agency and knocked down for USD400,000.
“We obviously raced the stallion and still own him with WinStar,” said China Horse Club’s USA Representative Christie DeBernardis.
“This is the first foal for a young mare, so it’s an outstanding effort right out of the box. We couldn’t be more excited about Life Is Good and continue to support him accordingly.
“On the racetrack, he brought us enormous joy and we are confident his progeny can carry on his legacy in the years ahead.”
In a career defined by searing speed, Life Is Good was arguably the premier racing son of champion sire Into Mischief. The handsome entire was able to carry that speed to success in nine of his 12 career starts including four times at the highest level. Credentials that have ensured market interest in him is white hot.
“I’ve seen a few of them and as a group, they seem to be a very uniform bunch,” said Highgate Sale’s Jill Gordon.
“From what we’ve seen so far with Life Is Good there’s a lot to look forward to and a lot of blue sky there.”
