Press Statement’s $1 million (RMB4.5 million) G1 Caulfield Guineas win in October remains the most significant update for members involved with horses in Australia with the Guineas among the most famous races in the nation. Not only it is a ‘blue chip’ racing event in its own right, it has a confirmed status as a ‘stallion making race’ ensuring members that bought into Press Statement were immediately and significantly rewarded as well as enjoying a unique moment.

However, other members have also benefitted from astute investment decisions. The results that have benefitted members include:

  • Alpina’s older half-sister Politeness winning the $500,000 (RMB2.25 million) G1 Myer Classic;
  • Haiku had a significant pedigree update when her son Japonisme won the $500,000 (RMB2.25 million) G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes. Haiku is in foal to the club’s young stallion Dissident;
  • Our Pride and Joy, a half-sister to Criterion, continues to have her pedigree updated by the globetrotting star. The high profile stallion prospect elevated his career earnings to $7.2 million (RMB32.6 million) after running a close third in Tuesday’s famous $6 million (RMB27 million) Melbourne Cup. Our Pride and Joy is currently in foal to Dissident;

“Racing carnivals can see pedigrees update significantly and the China Horse Club has enjoyed some great results in recent weeks,” said Michael Wallace, Head of Bloodstock and Racing for the club.

“Aside from notable results for Alpina, Dissident and Our Pride and Joy which members have interests in, we saw the outstanding mare Catkins win another stakes race earlier in the spring. Her dam is in foal to Deep Field, one of the promising stallions members have invested in this year.

“The quality of mares that are going to our three newest stallions Dissident, Deep Field and Wandjina are exceptional. The results in the last week or two only reinforce that. It will be exciting when the first yearlings by these stallions is offered publicly.”
