20200903-front-NashvilleNashville becomes the active sire on WinStar’s roster to graduate from CHC’s USA racing arm

China Horse Club and WinStar Farm’s track record-setting Nashville has been retired from racing and will join an accomplished stallion roster at the latter’s Kentucky operation.

The striking entire becomes the fifth active stallion on the roster to have graduated from the joint racing programme alongside multiple Eclipse Award winning G1 star Improbable, G1 winners Yoshida and Audible as well as G2 winner Good Samaritan who just enjoyed his first winner with his first runner.

“Nashville was an exceptionally fast horse capable of running brilliant sectionals, a quality that made him an exciting racehorse and now makes him an exciting stallion prospect,” said Fabricio Buffolo, China Horse Club’s Regional Manager (America, LATAM, Caribbean).

“Nashville deservedly sit at WinStar Farm alongside his own sire Speightstown who is proving himself to be a sire of sires in addition to being a long-standing source of elite racehorses.”

The measure of Nashville’s searing speed was best exemplified at the 2020 Breeders’ Cup when his time in winning the Perryville Stakes, on the race undercard, would have won him the USD2,000,000 G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint against subsequent Eclipse Champion Sprinter Whitmore.

“Nashville is the fastest horse we have ever had at WinStar,” said Elliott Walden, President and racing manager of WinStar.

“He is a freak of nature. The brilliance he showed will give him a big chance at stud. Being by Speightstown won’t hurt either.”
