National Holiday celebrations have carried across China and China Horse Club (CHC) Members have had additional reason to celebrate. The CHC’s French fillies have been in wondrous form in recent months and continued that through the deeds of Ming Zhi Cosmos and Jiayuguan during China’s ‘Golden Week’.
Ming Zhi Cosmos secured her third stakes win when securing the G3 Premio Sergio Cumani (1600m) in Milan, Italy in another persuasive performance of her abilities. The late maturing Jiayuguan is in career best form and ran a game third in the Listed Prix Charles Laffitte (2000m) at Chantilly, France.
“Ming Zhi Cosmos is a wonderful servant to the China Horse Club and our members. She is certainly providing us with an exciting journey and experiences,” said Eden Harrington, General Manager for the China Horse Club.
“This filly has always shown ability but Nicolas (Clement) has done a wonderful job with her. As a two-year-old she was a winner and contested stakes races. As a three-year-old she has now won a G3 as well as two listed races.
“Jiayuguan has always shown ability but luck has not always gone her way. She again ran into some difficulties at the top of the straight but her effort was fantastic and I know her owners were delighted to see her show what she can do.”
Clement is evaluating the next start for Ming Zhi Cosmos who has won four of her last five starts. While he is doing so the CHC’s stable will be carried on by Celestial House who contests the Prix des Juniors at Compeigne tonight.
