First Seal
A filly with a pedigree profile similar to the club’s G1 heroine First Seal was one of seven new purchases secured by the China Horse Club on the third day of trading at the Magic Millions.
Like the exceptional First Seal, the newly purchased filly is by champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock, and is out of a mare with G1 classic form called Sarah Vee. Sarah Vee was a stakes winner who ran second in the G1 New Zealand Thousand Guineas, one of the feature races for fillies in New Zealand. Sarah Vee has already produced six foals to race all of which are winners, including Rahveel and Yesterday’s Song who are both stakes placed.
By comparison, First Seal was out of the two time G1 winning classic mare Episode. At the time First Seal was purchased, Episode had also had six foals to race all of whom were winners including a stakes winner and a stakes placegetter.
“The Fastnet Rock x Sarah Vee has a pedigree that draws parallels to First Seal but she is a different individual but is a quality yearling in her own right. Hopefully she can be equally as talented,” said Michael Wallace, Head of Bloodstock and Racing for the China Horse Club.
“The club has had success with Fastnet Rock. Aside from First Seal, Zululand has won a G2 and $1.5 million in earnings and we also have some nice young stock coming through our program by him.
“This filly is one of several quality individuals which will be offered to members. It is exciting to have secured some really athletic performers who we believe can play an important role for the club going forward.”

Lot 473, All Too Hard x Night War colt
Lot 544, More Than Ready x Rock of Fortune colt
