The China Horse Club has moved swiftly and decisively to secure a magnificent filly overnight in France on behalf of members. The Galileo x Royal Highness yearling can be described as one of the best pedigreed fillies to be sold at auction in Europe this year and she is a wonderful acquisition to add the growing ranks of the CHC.
This filly has several notable attributes which single her out as being highly commercial and a wonderful racing prospect:
- She is a daughter of champion stallion Galileo (also the sire of dual Derby winner Australia)
- She is a daughter of outstanding race mare Royal Highness who excelled in France and America(1st G1 Beverly D Stakes, 1st G2 Prix de Malleret, 2nd G1 Prix Ganay and 2nd G1 Prix Vermeille etc)
- Royal Highness is herself the daughter of champion sire and emerging broodmare sire Monsun
- She is a half-brother to G2 winner Free Port Lux (currently racing in France)
- She is a magnificent looking individual with class and a great temperament
The Galileo x Royal Highness filly has been sent to Haras de Mezeray where she will be broken in and prepared for racing in 2015 and beyond. Haras de Mezeray is one of France’s premier farms and oversaw the management of the club’s star performer Tropaios prior to his transition to Singapore and subsequent win in the G1 Longines Singapore Gold Cup.
Free Port Lux, the older half-brother to this filly, won the G2 Prix Hocquart in May this year before finding the tracks too wet when fourth in the G1 €600,000 Grand Prix de Paris and when second in the G2 €400,000 Prix Guillaume D’Ornano over the weekend. Despite his aversion to very wet tracks, Free Port Lux has shown himself to be one of France’s premier three-year-olds and any further success he can have on the track will aid the commercial appeal of his yearling sister which will race in CHC colours.
