The China Horse Club’s burgeoning reputation as a breeder of elite racehorses in Australia ensures the dispersal of nine well credentialled mares is noteworthy.
This is the third and final instalment of a three-part review of nine broodmares the China Horse Club is selling at the upcoming 2022 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. In Part Three we review two mares in foal to two Champion First, Second and Third Season Sires in Zoustar and Pierro.
The rise and rise of Zoustar has been imperious and 2022 has reaffirmed his standing as arguably Australia’s next prolific sire. In 2022, Zoustar has sired five yearlings for AUD1 million or above. Significantly, over the last five seasons (2018 – 2022), his yearling average has risen 114 percent, a staggering 88 percent above the average across Australia’s premier yearling sales.
Pierro, sire of six individual G1 winners, whose yearlings have sold up to AUD1,500,000 this year, is positioned to great effect with a pipeline of progeny from the most commercial mares he has ever covered starting to hit the track.
