China Horse Club looks to have unearthed another potential star after Prime Factor streeted rivals by nearly nine lengths on debut at Gulfstream Park (Florida, USA) over the weekend.
The regally bred colt was one of three winners for the club and clearly the most impressive. The striking juvenile set social media align after dominating rivals and never looking to have hit top gear.
“To draw away down the lane [home straight] untouched and to win by almost nine lengths was exceptionally and speaks of the ability he has,” said Michael Wallace, Chief Operating Officer of the China Horse Club.
“[Prime Factor] has always been a beautiful horse. He was in the top three of our yearling selections and has impressed all throughout the year. We will discuss the next step for him with our partners WinStar Farm but he is undoubtedly an exciting prospect for 2021.”

Prime Factor is the second large margin debutant winner for the CHC’s US operation in recent weeks after Life is Good was a smashing near 10 length winner at first asking last month. Much has to happen ahead of next years classic season but there is no doubt that the duo is the most talented pairing of colts for the China Horse Club / WinStar Farm group since 2018 when Justify and Audible strode the stage. The former developed into an undefeated Triple Crown winner, the latter a G1 Florida Derby hero and Kentucky Derby placegetter. Hopefully both Prime Factor and Life is Good remain sound and are able to showcase their potential.
The awesome performance of Prime Factor overshadowed the wins of Australian pairing Requited and Solva who each saluted at Canberra and Orange respectively. Solva posted his win in the AUD22,000 John Davis Motors (1100m) at just his second career outing. While Requited was posted his second win in only five starts when claiming the AUD20,000 Proallied Handicap (1200m).
