Rose Bloom racing away at Chantilly
rance’s flagship €400,000 G1 Prix Marcel Boussac sits squarely in the crosshairs of the untapped Rose Bloom after she franked heady opinions of her with yet another resounding performance.
The Longchamp contest draws leading contenders from across Europe and historically anoints France’s champion filly, but the China Horse Club colour bearer is deserving of being in such a conversation.
“Rose Bloom is exceptionally exciting,” said Matt Houldsworth, China Horse Club’s European Representative.
“Nicolas [Clement] and CHC were evaluation stakes options as well as this conditions race, such was the merit of her debut. And the manner in which she handled this task at Chantilly, we will be raising the bar for her further again.
“She is certainly broadening our horizons and that is something to be thankful for. She clearly belongs in elite company.”
Rose Bloom in the winner’s circle again
The Nicolas Clement trained filly retained her undefeated mantle when a facile two length winner of a Conditional (1600m) race at Chantilly over the weekend. Having grabbed headlines with an eye-catching debut when exploding between runners late at Deauville, the juvenile demonstrated her versatility when leading throughout under the guidance of jockey Stephane Pasquier. The commonality of the performances coming with her trademark slick changing of gears which spirited her away from this opposition.
France’s premier events have been a rewarding hunting ground for China Horse Club from limited opportunities. In 2022, State of Rest saluted in the G1 Prix Ganay – the third of his four G1 victories. And in 2015, Johannes Vermeer, bred in partnership with Coolmore and raced in partnership with Messrs Magnier, Tabor and Smith, secured the G1 Criterium International Stakes.
