Sir Owen being awarded the ‘CHC Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Charity’
The philanthropic energy of Sir Owen Glenn appear limitless with a commitment being made to adopt 130 Indian children and bring them out of lives of poverty, slavery and prostitution.
The China Horse Club International Advisory Council member has pledged to donate USD1,200,000 (RMB7.6 million) to educate, house and enrich the lives of these young children including a portion of today’s G1 Cox Plate should his star racehorse Criterion sweet the international event and collect the first prize of $A1.8 million (RMB8.25 million).
Last month Sir Owen’s legacy to charity and changing the lives of thousands from developing countries was recognized at the CECF Wuhan Gala Event when he was awarded a CHC Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Charity. This award is the latest in a weighty list of achievements for his work in philanthropy which includes his knighthood.
