China Horse Club has refreshed its Australian broodmare band with the purchasing of five young mares and the sale of seven. The Club sold under the banner of its Southern Highland’s property, The Chase, for the first time at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and was well rewarded with the support of domestic and international buyers.

“The strength of the Australian industry is exceptional right now. It is really the most vibrant in the world right now,” said Mike Smith, China Horse Club’s Australian Representative.

“We have secured some fantastic mares who are really suitable to go to Extreme Choice, Zoustar and Russian Revolution who we have important shareholdings in and we have also sold on some mares to some exceptional judges and we thank each and every one for their support.”

On the opening day of the sale, China Horse Club secured stakes winning mares Ballistic Lover and Ecumenical as well as Nor Izzati. Over the ensuing two days of trading, it singled out two young mares in Aviemore and Germanotta.

“Germanotta is a lovely mare out of G2 wining and multiple G1 placed mare Vormista who has already thrown G1 Blue Diamond Stakes runner-up Reemah,” Smith added.

“Reemah is a daughter of Redoute’s Choice and Germanotta will really suit Russian Revolution well.

“Aviemore is a half-sister to King of Sparta, who China Horse Club has been involved in since he was a yearling, and we believe this is a family with continued upside. She has an early cover to Street Boss whose credentials continue to rise.”

The Chase sold seven mares with the standout result being the sale of Primavera (AUD320,000) to Lucky Vega Bloodstock.
